Courtenay, BC—The Comox Valley Small Business Association (SBA), is hosting a meeting on Thursday, March 3. Owners of small businesses are invited to attend as guests.

The meeting is held the Filberg Center, lower level (Evergreen Room), and starts at 5:30 pm.  There will be networking from 5:30-6, and then the educational portion of the meeting starts and runs until 7pm.

The guest speaker will be attorney Wayne Anderson, partner in Anderson & Co. Barrister & Solicitor.  He will speak about pros and cons of incorporation, and how it compares to sole proprietorships and partnerships.

Guests should bring business cards for the networking portion of the meeting; they are invited to bring a door prize and a snack to share.

The organization’s March 17th meeting, also at the Filberg Center, will include networking, a spotlight presentation by Carmie Dixon of Relay Event Rentals.  There will also be a “mastermind” session, which promotes a “group-think” approach to addressing business scenarios often faced by entrepreneurs.

There is no charge to attend SBA meetings as a guest for up to two meetings per year.

The dues to join the group, which meets on the first and third Thursdays of the month (except December, July, and August), are $95 per year.
